Cookie Policy

The few cookies and browser storage spawnpop uses, and what each one is for.

spawnpop uses cookies and local storage that the product needs. It has no advertising cookies. It does use three analytics tools, listed below, to see how the site is used and where it breaks.

What we set

NameKindPurpose
Session cookie (Better Auth)Strictly necessaryKeeps you signed in, or keeps a guest session so your projects and credits stay attached to this browser
spawnpop_anon_idFunctionalAn anonymous visitor identifier that links a guest's work, credits and basic product events
Language cookieFunctionalRemembers the language of the page
sidebar_stateFunctionalRemembers whether the account sidebar is open
Local storageFunctionalKeeps a purchase in progress, so credits are applied to your project when you return from Stripe

Analytics

ToolKindPurpose
Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*)AnalyticsCounts visits and page views. Google receives the page address and a browser identifier
Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk)AnalyticsSession recordings and heatmaps. Microsoft receives how you move and click on the page. Text typed into the prompt and feedback boxes is masked in the browser before it is sent
Plausible (no cookie)AnalyticsCookie-free visit counts, run on our own server

Recording is switched off in code on the sign-in, account, settings, admin, checkout return, restore and contact pages, so your email address and payment return are never recorded. These tools do not load in automated test browsers.

Set by providers on their own pages

  • Cloudflare Turnstile runs a bot check before checkout and on some actions. It may set its own cookie to do that.
  • Stripe sets cookies on its checkout page for fraud prevention and to complete the payment.
  • Google sets cookies only if you choose to sign in with Google.

Managing them

Blocking the strictly necessary cookies means you cannot keep a project or credits between pages. Your browser settings let you clear or block any cookie; clearing them detaches a guest from earlier work, and the restore page brings paid credits back with your payment email.
