A game needs small icons as well as one game icon: boosts, items, abilities, jobs. An icon pack is one generation of 100 credits that returns a set of square icons drawn together, so the border, the lighting and the level of detail match. These are 8 packs from our own test runs, with the date of the run, mostly 2026-10-20, each icon 512 by 512 pixels.

An experience icon is mostly seen small, in a row of games on a phone. The quickest test is to look at your icon at the sizes below. This is one of ours, the fighting icon, at three sizes. If the subject is still the first thing you see at 48 pixels, it will work.

The icon is shown with rounded corners, so anything near the corners is cut. In the picture below the dashed square marks the middle 80 percent of the frame, which is the area we keep the subject in.
| File | Shape and size | Seen at | Made with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Game icon | Square, 512 × 512 px | Small, in lists of games | This page |
| Thumbnail | Wide, 1920 × 1080 px | On the experience page | The Roblox thumbnail maker |
| Item and currency icons | Small squares, used in the game | Inside your own GUI | An icon pack, or the pieces of a GUI kit |
The icon and the thumbnail are uploaded in the media settings of your experience in the Creator Hub. Roblox checks each image before it appears, so allow some minutes.
Every icon on this page came from one run of our own generator, on the date shown beside it, from the description printed with it. We did not pick the best of several tries and we did not retouch them. Where a run produced a flaw, such as a pack that drew one icon twice, we dropped the duplicate and said so rather than hiding it.
The experience icon is a square, and 512 by 512 pixels is the size we export. The file you upload is displayed much smaller, with rounded corners, so the picture has to survive being shrunk and cropped.
No. The prompt asks for no lettering because image models misspell words, and words are unreadable at icon size anyway. If you want your game name on it, add it in an image editor.
It shares a subject with the thumbnail from the same description, but it is generated on its own as a square, so the pose and the colours can differ. Treat them as a pair, not a copy.
An icon pack is one generation of 100 credits that returns a set of small square icons in one style, such as currencies or items, for use inside the game rather than as the game's icon.
A game icon is 40 credits and an icon pack is 100. A run that fails is refunded to your balance automatically, and credits never expire.
Roblox badges and game passes also take square images. Check the size hint on the upload form before you reuse an icon, and keep in mind that an icon drawn for the experience page may be too detailed for a small badge.
A group emblem is also a square upload, like badges and game passes, so a square icon from here fits the shape. Check the size hint on the group upload form first, and judge it at a small size before you upload.
A game icon is 40 credits, about $0.20 to $0.40 depending on the pack you buy, and an icon pack is 100 credits, about $0.50 to $1.00. See the pricing page for the packs.
The three avatar icons at the top of this page are real outputs of our own live test run on 2026-10-21, made through the same pipeline you use, on our own test account. Each is a 3D-style character icon on a transparent background, drawn for a different game, and none has been retouched. A game icon is 40 credits.
The pirate game in that run did not return an icon, so it is not shown here. We show what came out, not what we hoped for.
